Inspiring Blogger Award

Central Park in April

I’ve been honored with another award, and this time it’s the “Very Inspiring Blogger Award” from super sweet Hilary over at Cutie Cameras. A great big thanks to her for nominating me! I adore her posts about vintage cameras in particular, and you should definitely peruse her blog regardless of whether you’re a photography aficionado. It has plenty of fashion and lifestyle posts for everyone to enjoy. Now then, it’s time to recite the rules of the award:

  1. Thank and link the amazing person who nominated you.
  2. List the rules and display the award.
  3. Share seven facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated.
  5. Optional: Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you.

Seven Facts About Me

1) I’ve never broken a bone.
2) I’ve never eaten a hamburger from McDonald’s, Burger King, or Wendy’s. Since I’ve been able to get away with it for so long, I’ve made it a life goal to continue this streak.
3) I loved Volkswagen Beetles when I was a pre-teen. I was so obsessed that I had a collection of miniature replicas of them, t-shirts, Kleenexes (if that’s not weird, I don’t know what is) with tiny illustrations of them, and posters of them on my wall.
4) I designed the header for this blog myself using Photoshop.
5) Sometimes I seriously wonder if I could live anywhere without a SuperTarget or Chick-Fil-A. It already upsets me that there isn’t a Trader Joe’s within 100 miles of my home.
6) I’m an avid watcher of Pretty Little Liars and Teen Wolf. I’m well aware that this makes me sound like a 13-year-old girl. #sorrynotsorry
7) Speaking of watching TV, I’m a big fan of the British “constructed reality” show “Made In Chelsea.” It’s technically not broadcast in the United States, but some lovely person in the UK uploads episodes on YouTube the day after new episodes air and thereby feeds my addiction.

  1. Thank you so much! I’ll have a celebratory drink in your honour. Or two, cause it’s Tuesday. Also, Made in Chelsea is amazing. Victoria looks like a velociraptor. Is that mean? Thanks for the award!

  2. First of all, congrats and thanks so much for nominating me!! And second of all, my heart breaks for you that you don’t have a Trader Joe’s nearby! That is tragic. Thirdly, I am also an avid Teen Wolf fan and am really excited that you are too. The finale of the last season made me absolutely sob, and then I made a blog post about it that I was 95% sure nobody would understand, but I posted it anyways. LOL. I also love Pretty Little Liars but I’m so far behind it’s mortifying.

    • You’re so welcome! The Trader Joe’s thing irks me because a) I need to replenish my stockpile of cookie butter, b) I love their granola bars, c) their prices make my wallet happy.

As for Teen Wolf, last season was so good, but the ending made my heart hurt. I read that both the twins have left the show, as well as Isaac. Apparently the girl who plays Allison WANTED to be killed off. I’m just glad Stiles is still around. He’s my favorite, and I hope he gets back to being super sarcastic this season. He’s great at being creepy, but I need a little Seth-Cohen-esque humor in my life!

      • Have you read this article? http://www.buzzfeed.com/jarettwieselman/inside-the-bloodiest-funniest-and-most-romantic-teen-wolf-se From the looks of it, next season is going to be less dark than last season as well as bring back some humor. & yes, so obsessed with Dylan O’Brien. His acting last season was brilliant. Also, I don’t know if this is the reason why, but I know that Allison & Issac dated in real life and then broke up right before they started filming last season (and you know how they were a couple in the show and all…) So I’m guessing that may have played a part in her decision. Super bummed about it, and I really liked Issac too!!

Oh, and if you ever want me to send you Trader Joe’s stuff, just holler!! :) I have two within a five mile radio of me lol.

        • That’s very sweet of you to offer!

OMG, yes, I did run across that article! That was how I found out that Isaac had left, and I too was bummed. I enjoyed his sassiness. *sigh*

I kind of wish they’d bring Jackson back, but I bet they can’t because Colton Haynes is on some other show now. Ugh.

I’m going to try to read “The Maze Runner” this summer because I want to see Dylan O’Brien in the movie this fall, haha. I loved him on New Girl. I’m such a fan girl.

  3. Congrats and thank you for the nomination!!

Also, I’m a huge huge fan of Pretty Little Liars! Pretty sure I’m too old to watch it…but it’s so good!! Have you watched the new episode?
Made in Chelsea is one of my absolute favs, I can’t get enough! I don’t even care if it’s scripted or completely set up or whatever, they’re all beautiful (except Victoria obvs), the places are all stunning and I look forward to it every week! I love Mark Francis (pretty sure he’s from another planet…a very expensive designer one of course) and Binky and absolutely hate Spencer, he’s vile.
Kind of miss the old days of Caggie, Hugo and Millie but I’ll never stop watching haha

    • You’re welcome, Hannah! Yes, I watched the season premiere of PLL last night… and I was so confused. I was constantly thinking “where did this person come from?” and “wait, why are they in New York again?” and “what in the world is Mona’s problem?” and “why did CeCe get arrested?”

As for MiC, I totally agree with you on how it is so beautifully filmed. I think that’s part of the charm of it for me. I actually didn’t start watching it until S5, so I missed out on Caggie and Hugo, but I’m holding out hope that someone will upload the old episodes on YouTube one day (Channel 4 won’t let Americans stream full episodes).

      • Yeah lots of questions during PLL, like….why is there a gang of A’s about to attack them in a playground? And why at the end of the episode do they think it’s all over finally…did they forget about the 30 other people that wanted to hurt them earlier??

Have you ever used Project Free TV? It has every season and episode of Made in Chelsea (plus every other amazing show!), when I was living in Canada I would watch on that!

        • Yes, where did all those “A”s come from? And how did YouKnowWho recruit them? Did she just pay a bunch of randos to dress up in black hoodies?

I haven’t heard of Project Free TV, but I will definitely have to check it out. Thanks for the tip!

  4. thank you so very much! I really appreciate it!! And I loved your answers- I’m super impressed about your lack of hamburgers at fast food places. I’m not a huge fan either, and I think it’s been well over 15 years since I’ve eaten at one!! Thanks again for the nomination! Love your blog!! xo

    • You’re welcome! The hamburger thing was essentially an accident at first. I’ve always just gone for chicken nuggets or salads or whatever. I’ve had burgers from other places like Five Guys, but the burgers from the aforementioned three places just don’t look appetizing to me.

    • You’re welcome! I also think it’s quite funny when they “run into” people in their neighborhood – particularly when there is absolutely no one else around. Surely the streets in Chelsea are not THAT empty.

When Stevie and Riley were on their first little date in the park, and Sam ran into them with his shopping bags, I nearly laughed out loud. What on earth was he doing in the park with shopping bags? haha.

  5. Thanks so much for the nomination, I really appreciate it! I don’t watch any of those shows mentioned above, although Made in Chelsea sounds fabulous and just my cup of tea. As for Teen Wolf, I think I had a vague notion that it was now a TV show, but to me, Teen Wolf will always be a young Michael J Fox. Oh, and then a young Jason Bateman in Teen Wolf 2. Sigh. #80smemories. #GenXerscan#too

    • There was a Teen Wolf 2?! I had no idea.

But yes, if you liked The Hills, then you’ll like Made in Chelsea. There is drama, but luckily no trashy Speidi-like couple (although the show’s resident jerk IS named Spencer – and dated Stephanie Pratt on the show).
