About The Hashtag Generation

Millennials make up a generation that has grown up with the internet. We hashtag everything. The world is our oyster, and we capture it with our iPhone cameras and then upload it on Instagram (with a hashtag). But while we may be known as the “me, me, me generation,” we still want to make the world a better place. We care about activism, politics, pop culture, fashion, technology, and science. We are quite possibly the quirkiest, most educated, and most expressive generation out there, and this blog aims to reflect those interests and qualities (with a sprinkling of hashtags along the way).

About Meaisha green couch colorful paintings

I’m Aisha, and I’m a recent graduate of a top-25 law school who also has bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science. Full disclaimer: the last time I had a blog was in the sixth grade (no, really – I taught myself HTML while I was in elementary school). I somehow managed to land myself a year-long legal fellowship, and so I guess I am officially beginning my trek into the real world. Join me, won’t you?

Things that strike my fancy: human rights, media issues, pop culture, American history, Kate Middleton’s wardrobe, coffee table books, acoustic guitars, frappuccinos, interior design, useless trivia, baking delicious treats, traveling, tennis, puppies, and going on adventures.

    • I’m so glad! I feel kinda bad because I think I’ve deviated a little bit from my original vision of what this blog was supposed to be, but hopefully I haven’t strayed too far. Thanks for the follow!

  3. Found your blog floating around the Internet, and I was happy to find a fellow law student (or former law student, I suppose)! Anyway, wonderful blog. I’ll be reading regularly :)

    • Thanks so much for following! It’s always encouraging to hear such nice compliments from a fellow law student. Best of luck to you as you muddle through the trenches of law school (considering I’m studying for the bar, I feel as though I haven’t really left school yet myself, to be honest). #TheStruggleIsReal

  4. You’ve been nominated for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Click here to read seven pointless facts about me and claim the award. Or not. It’s your life.

And, so what if this is a generic message. The sincerity is there.

    • I’m so glad you enjoy it! And yes, I just graduated and am employed as a legal fellow in an office of general counsel. But just to keep a little bit of anonymity, I’d rather not give more specifics, though.

I started this blog during the final semester of law school, but since I was a journalism major in college, the whole writing process wasn’t exactly something new or groundbreaking for me personally. I’ve always been a fan of pop culture and complaining about how Millennials get the short end of the stick in this economy.

      Thanks for following along!
